Storyhome – the Wireless Tale-Teller

Storyhome – the digital tale-teller

Finally, a useful IoT device for a travelling salesman like me. For a few weeks now, I’ve been a godfather to a little boy. With StoryHome, I can virtually read for him while I’m on the business trip. Even when I am at home, I can read for him as well and play the stories later.

My wife can also use StoryHome. She is a godmother to a little girl. Perhaps, the two kids can share the digital tale-teller. If not, then two StoyHome devices are not too expensive to stay connected with the kids and pass them down stories.

Storyhome – Technical

The concept form the StoryHome team was clear. I was brought in to help with the antenna concept.  The better the antenna is connected, the higher the range, or the data throughput. The rest of the planned electronic makes a solid impression. Interesting is that the Wi-Fi module inside the IoT device will power on only by connect to the charger. If the kids will run around and listen stories, the Wi-Fi is off. This will save not just energy – it will save RF energy close to the body of the Kids as well. This could be a bigger theme for connected objects in the years to come.

Kickstarter – StoryHome

Now the Storyhome Team has launched a Kickstarter project to help raise funds for production. The concept behind this tape of crowdfunding is that you support the project now and can receive one of the first devices from the first production.
